The KNAUS Campingpark Wingst is located to the south-east of Cuxhaven, nestled between the idyllic Balksee nature reserve and the picturesque hills of the Wingst. Surrounded by extensive meadows, old trees and an idyllic lake that attracts both fishing enthusiasts and dog owners, this camping park offers a unique oasis of relaxation. Traditional thatched-roof farms and the extensive marshland give the Wingst its special rural charm.
An eventful stay is guaranteed: the nearby Wingst outdoor and indoor swimming pool offers free admission to all guests of the camping park. Sports and games enthusiasts will get their money's worth in the sports and games park with summer toboggan run and tree rope trail. The Wingster Forest Zoo, where animals from all over the world can be observed in natural enclosures, is particularly popular. The Escape Rally in the zoo offers adventurers exciting puzzles and excitement for young and old as they track down a lost hiker and solve tricky tasks.
The youngest guests will also find everything their hearts desire in the ‘Schwalbentreff’ – a cosy play and recreation room. Here, fun activities and games create a lively atmosphere and make the holiday an unforgettable experience for the whole family.

The region around the KNAUS Campingpark Wingst offers a variety of exciting excursion destinations. A ride in a horse-drawn carriage to the North Sea island of Neuwerk or an adventurous mudflat hike over approx. 10 km to the island is an unforgettable experience. Equally fascinating are trips to the seal banks or to the nearby water ski area, which promises exciting water fun.
The diverse landscape of the Wingst with its forests, meadows and lakes invites you to take long hiking and cycling tours. The North Sea coast is just a 30-minute drive away, and the lively town of Cuxhaven is about 30 km away. The historic cities of Stade and Hamburg are also great options for day trips, and can be easily reached by Metronom train. Bremerhaven and the island of Heligoland are also just a short drive away.
Another highlight of the region is the ‘Deutscher Olymp’ viewing tower, the oldest tourist attraction in the Wingst. From here you can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view over the Elbe, as far as Brunsbüttel and on a clear day even as far as the North Sea near Cuxhaven-Altenbruch.
