The KNAUS Camping Park Haren is picturesquely situated in the heart of the historic mariner's town of Haren (Ems). Surrounded by green nature, the park's own natural lake offers an oasis of calm where you can relax wonderfully or enjoy your time fishing. There are numerous adventures for our younger guests: from bobby cars to scooters, children can explore the 5-hectare site on vehicles from the on-site rental service while they let off steam in the playground.
Explore the picturesque town centre of Haren (Ems) and be enchanted by the maritime attractions. The marina is a highlight and is ideal for a relaxing stroll. A visit to the St. Martinus Church, also known as the ‘Emsland Cathedral’, is an absolute must. This impressive church, whose dome is modelled on St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, is the city's landmark and delights visitors with its unique architecture.
The western part of the town of Haren is characterised by the Haren-Rütenbrock Canal, which branches off from the Ems and houses the Haren Maritime Museum. Delve into the fascinating world of coastal shipping with a visit to the ‘Floating Museum’. In addition to various historical ships and boats, visitors can also discover a collection of nautical instruments and the former lock-keeper's house.

Dankern Castle Adventure Park – fun for the whole family. Just a few kilometres from the KNAUS Campingpark Haren, the Dankern Castle Adventure Park awaits you. A paradise for families, offering playgrounds, pony rides and roller coasters, as well as exciting attractions such as a water toboggan run and an outdoor pool. There's no chance of getting bored here!
The Emsland region is known for its breathtaking landscapes, and the Moor-Veenland is no exception. Discover the unique flora and fauna of the Bourtanger Moor Nature Park , a World Heritage Site that was once the largest contiguous raised bog in Europe. The wide horizons and impressive moor landscapes invite you to take long hikes or bicycle tours.
Not far from Haren is the lovingly restored fortress of Bourtange. This open-air museum takes you back to 1742 and shows you what everyday life was like at that time. Historical actors in authentic uniforms demonstrate crafts, changing of the guard and skirmishes, and offer an unforgettable experience for young and old.
The Meyer shipyard in Papenburg is an absolute must for technology fans. In one of the world's most modern shipyards, visitors can experience the construction of cruise liners up close. Whether you go on a guided tour or explore independently, you can learn all about the fascinating journey from steel plate to finished ship at the visitor centre.
