The KNAUS Campingpark Frickenhausen is idyllically situated in the charming wine-growing community of Frickenhausen, directly on the banks of the Main and surrounded by picturesque vineyards. The Kapellenberg in the background provides an impressive backdrop and invites you to take long hikes. The quiet location makes the camping park an ideal retreat for nature and wine lovers.
A special highlight of the KNAUS Campingpark Frickenhausen is the picturesque island in the Main, which was created by a side arm of the Main. Here you will find a large children's playground, a beach volleyball court and a table tennis table – perfect for family activities. On hot days, the adjacent open-air swimming pool and the park's own pool offer refreshing cooling and guarantee water fun for young and old!
Franconian specialities and vegetarian delicacies await you in the ‘Schwalbennest’ restaurant, which is located directly on the campsite. The large sun terrace is the perfect place to round off the evening with a glass of Franconian wine. Experience culinary diversity and enjoy traditional Franconian cuisine in the middle of picturesque vineyards.

The newly designed public outdoor pool is just a few steps away from the KNAUS Campingpark Frickenhausen, where camping guests enjoy free admission. A short walk of about one kilometre takes you to the charming centre of Frickenhausen, where the stately patrician houses bear fascinating witness to history. On the opposite bank of the Main, the historic old town of Ochsenfurt awaits you with its picturesque half-timbered buildings – a must for architecture enthusiasts.
A visit to the neighbouring wine villages of Sommerhausen and Randersacker is also worthwhile. In Sommerhausen you will find the Torturmtheater, the smallest theatre in Germany, which is very popular. As a guest of the KNAUS Campingpark Frickenhausen, you even get reduced admission here. The region also invites you to extensive wine tastings, where you can enjoy the fine wines of the Franconian vineyards.
Just 20 kilometres away lies Würzburg, a city full of culture and history. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site Residence, the Marienberg Fortress or stroll across the famous Old Main Bridge. Würzburg also offers numerous shopping opportunities that can be perfectly combined with a day trip.
There are many excursion options for families in the surrounding area. The Wildpark Sommerhausen wildlife park and the Freizeitland Geiselwind amusement park offer fun and adventure for children and adults alike. The small historic wine towns and cities such as Rothenburg ob der Tauber or Dinkelsbühl are also worth a visit.
From March to November, the surrounding wine-growing villages transform the region into a centre for wine festivals. Experience Franconian hospitality on vineyard walks, wine festivals and traditional events – and enjoy the region's excellent wines at the same time.
The Main Cycle Route offers ideal conditions for cyclists. The mostly flat routes, which are well signposted and on the best surfaces, make cycling tours a real pleasure. Take the opportunity to explore the romantic landscape of Franconia by bike.
