In the new regulation for the containment of the Corona pandemic ("Entry Regulation") of 01.08.21, the following was decided:

  • Obligation to furnish proof: Persons from the age of 12 must be in possession of proof of vaccination or recovery from COVID-19 or a test certificate (antigen test: taken max. 48 hours, PCR test: taken max. 72 hours before entry) when crossing the border. Any person who spent time in an area classified as an area of variants of concern, within the 10 days prior to entering the Federal Republic of Germany, must be in possession of a test certificate (antigen test: taken max. 24 hour, PCR test: taken max. 72 hours before entry).
  • Obligation to register: If you have stayed in an area classified as a high-risk area or an area of variants of concern the last ten days prior at the time of your entry, you must register at the Federal Republic of Germany’s travel portal at www.einreiseanmeldung.de before entering the country and carry the confirmation with you.
  • Quarantine: After a stay in a high-risk area, the quarantine period generally lasts 10 days (earliest free testing possible after 5 days), for vaccinated or recovered persons the quarantine is not applicable. After a stay in a area of variants of concern, quarantine generally lasts 14 days (also for vaccinated and recovered persons).
